best beginner tattoo kit?

i am a decorative painter/ muralist, and i would like to learn to tattoo. i am not interested in doing it professionally, but i would like to be able to do my own tattoos and my husbands. is there a beginners kit that you would recommend and any literature that would be helpful? any other tips?
hey guys, ive been a professioanl painter/artist for over 13 years. i would not apply a tattoo unless i was sure i knew what i was doing and was sure it would turn out perfectly. i want to learn the right way to do it....i just dont want to do it for everyone else. its for me

no. i would recommend you leave it up to the professionals to do. otherwise you and your husband will have some crappy work to look at forever on your bodies.
ETA- even if you are a great artist, that doesn't naturally translate into tattooing. My husband is an artist, went to school for fine arts, and he still had to learn from an expert about how to tattoo. He'll be an apprentice for two years. It's a skilled trade, not something you can just do for fun.

do forearm sleve tattoos on women look nice?

allot of people say that tattoos look horrible on women and i want to get a sleeve from my wrist to my elbow. I have designed it my self so it will be unique, but i am worried that because it will be more visible to the public that people will frown at it. it has quite dark colours and was inspired by two of my favourite artists (KAWS and Ron English). The reason i am concerned is because i am worried about the future like getting married (that is my main concern) and having half a sleeve tattoo down my arm in the wedding photos, wrecking the whole image. I am not bothered about when im older because i figure that you only get to live once and at least i could say that i did it and i lived my life while i had it.

Forearm sleeves look weird to me.
Like shoulder to elbow can look good but seriously it all depends on what you get in the sleeve.

Some look awful (to me) because the artwork is bad or it doesnt go together or its just not my taste
Others look amazing if the artwork is good and they are to my taste

So it depends really.
But whos tattoo is this?
