First tattoo, when should i get it?
I turn 18 on Sept 17. I'm getting my nose pierced that day after school. I've also decided to get a tattoo. It's going to be the words "Live Laugh Love" in nice print, with a heart coming off the 'e' in love. This phrase has been my favorite since i saw it on a friend's binder in 8th grade.
I've decided I'm going to get it before my school's homecoming, which is middle/late november usually, because my dress is strapless, and I'm getting it on my shoulder. I was just wondering if i should wait until early november, or sometime in october? I was thinking about waiting all of october so i KNOW ii want it and will not regret it, or should i just get it a few weeks after my birthday?
Also, how much would it cost if it's going to be maybe 3-5 inches long and no more than 1 inch high?? Pure black ink. Thanks soo much!!
You should get it so that you have no less than a month to heal. It can be less, but the average is 2 - 4 weeks, but it can be more. I doubt that yours would, if you do excellent aftercare, and that it is black. Black is carbon based and the body handles it well, and you should have no difficulties with allergic reactions to ink and such.
Make sure that you have any and all references to take with you. The type of lettering, the shape of the heart etc.
Also, make sure that you have thought about the placement on your shoulder. Write it out on a piece of paper and tape it there to see it there needs to be adjustments because of straps, or how your arm bends, or the skin wrinkles, etc.
